Hello everyone! Happy Mother's Day!

We here at dAKnitters are very busy with jobs, college, and life in general, and we are all ready to relax! In honour of our desire for bright sunshine and sleep, we have decided our May 2015 contest theme should be: SPRING.

This theme is for open interpretation, so whatever spring speaks to you, please show us. :D

As a lasting note: For those facing finals during this time, hang in there! Summer break is right around the corner and a chance to breathe is VERY close!

Now, here are the rules:

- Entries can be of anything you would otherwise be able to submit to the group. The bottom line: have it be fiber art. That includes knitting, crochet, felting, and creations made using fibers.

- Limit 3 entries per person. We know you all create things 24/7, so we cannot accept 10+ entries from one person (even though we would love to see all of them!).

- NEW entries only! You guys create awesome things, so we would love to see you guys create something new just for this contest; it makes it so much more exciting to see what you guys come up with! This includes that the entry must be EXCLUSIVE for this contest, and cannot be submitted to other group contests (that voids the entry being "new").

- You MUST have the group icon :icondaknitters: somewhere in your description. You can do this by typing : icondAKnitters : minus the spaces.

- Please also state in the description that it is for the May 2015 contest.

- Submit your entry to the folder, "May 2015 Contest". The folder is open today, and will remain open until June 1st.

Now, it's not a fun contest without PRIZES! We have three places for you guys, so here are the prizes for each place.

First place:

- 100 points from :iconcloudpow:
- Journal Feature and Llama from :iconwildphoenix22:
- Journal Feature and Llama from :icondaddys-girl1997:
Other prizes TBD

Second Place:

- Journal Feature and Llama from :iconwildphoenix22:
- Journal Feature and Llama from :icondaddys-girl1997:
Other prizes TBD

Third Place:

- Journal Feature and Llama from :iconwildphoenix22:
- Journal Feature and Llama from :icondaddys-girl1997:
Other prizes TBD

(TBD = To Be Determined)

Along with those prizes, if you guys (members) would like to contribute a prize, no matter how small, to the list, please feel free to comment with what you wish to contribute!

With all that being said, the LAST day for submissions is May 31st, with the winners to be announced on June 5th (to allow all the judges fair time to judge the entries).

READY. SET. YARN!

thank you for accepting me.  I make a lot of craft items. Is it okay to share them from time to time with a link if anyone is interested in buying them? Thanks

Hello.

You can submit items made using knit, crochet, or other fiber manipulating techniques (including felting). Yes, you can have a link in the deviation to your shop/storefront if the item is up for sale.

Hello, everyone! I am sad to say, but since I my computer died a month ago there was little I could do to check on you. :( I do what I can on my mobile phone from time to time. I'll also try to upload my stuff when possible. Take care all of you. :3

Hello, everyone! I need to apologize for not showing up in over a month, but I had problems of my own and went through a tough time. I'm back to work now!

Hello. Thank you for your continued interest in the group. :)

Please remember to read the guidelines of a challenge before submitting to the challenge folder. I'm a fan of WoW, but the theme for the November 2014 Challenge is Native American Heritage. :)

Funny thing, I don't remember submitting it to the challenge folder... I just hit the submit art right on the home page of the group.

Ah, okay. Try submitting the deviation from the deviation page itself to the group.

People, I need help! Since I learned knitting and crochet by myself, there still are a lot of things I don't really know how to make them. I'm doing a blanket in knitting and want to cross stitch the picture on it. Now, I know how you finish the loose ends of yarn in cross stitch, but since we're talking about blankets here, do I just hide the loose ends behind the stitch? Isn't it dangerous, like, with time won't it loose itself when washing, etc?
